"June" Rhymes With "Spoon"...

..."Spoon" is the old word for "3-wood". Coincidence? I think not.

I'll spare you all the complete play-by-play of "The 'Best' Damn Spring Calcutta". Instead, I'll just touch on some highlights. Shannon Messer bought the winning team, consisting of Kate Repp, Jeremy Booth, Shae McCabe and myself. It took a total team effort, I guarantee you that. Len Labaugh made one heckofa shot from the fringe on #1 to take one of the playoffs, and the other was won on #2. I guess nobody wanted to play in the dark again this year. Huge thanks to John Steele for the tarp job on the #3 filling station...I know Jane Caylor seconds that! It'll be warmer in the fall, Jane (we hope).

The dust control has been applied, and is doing a fine job. Anderson couldn't even use the "dust in my eyes" excuse to hide his tears after Kirk showed him how to chip in on #4.

The Monday Night League travels to Keosauqua this month, on June 20th. Please remember to turn in your cards when you get back! Last year I got 3 scorecards from down there, and I know more people went.

We also have the incredibly fun Good, Bad & Ugly tournament coming up Saturday, June 4th. It's 27 holes of mixed format golf with 2-person teams, and it's a blast. We also have the Senior Tourney on Tuesday, June 21st and the Club Tourney on June 25th - 26th. As always, information and sign-up sheets will be available in the clubhouse.

I do have one last shout out to our ace sidewalk inspector, President Dale Caylor. A-1 job, sir.

(Did you really think I would let that slide???)
