Notes From The Bridge
GOLF
Our tournament season is in full swing with some great July successes and more fun to come. The 4th of July potluck was well attended-good food, good friends and a wonderful day. Our 4-couple tourney was another gorgeous day with a full field of teams and about the smoothest tourney we’ve had-less than 4 hours! Many continued thanks to our volunteer and committee/board members that help make these events successful and my job easier-thanks everybody! The Heston Memorial was another huge success this year raising over $10,000 for Jefferson Co. hospice. Another big group hug for our members who make up a large part of the field and contribute greatly to this effort. Bill Corrick and Taco John’s put the interclub tourney back on our schedule 7/28&29. Members of the Walton and the Country Club played nicely together 18 holes Saturday at the club and 18 Sunday at Walton. We had men’s, women’s, and senior flights. Great job Bill and thanks to everybody that participated. Look for this event to be bigger, better, and even more fun next year! Aug 5 is our Parent/Child golf tourney and this year we’re having a picnic too! The golf this year starts at 11:00 a.m. The parent/child deal is pretty loose-uncles and nieces-in-laws, etc. It’s all for fun. You can sign-up for 9 or 18 holes. During the afternoon, we’ll have games for the youngsters at the clubhouse also. We’ll have our picnic about 5:30p.m.? We’re doing brats, burgers. Dogs plus sweet corn and melon-just bring your appetite! Aug 18 is our annual 3-person best shot. It’s $60 per team and 27 team maximum. Sign-up early-this one usually fills up.

I’ve had a couple complaints about missing items off of carts in our sheds. Please protect your valuables. This year’s cart path project should be close to finished when this hits your mailboxes. We are still accepting donations for future path work. Love and thanks to all that have donated! It’s turned out great-thanks Brew and crew! Aug. 25 is Bristol under the lights-Nascar party time and also Jason Krieger’s wedding reception-should be a fine evening!
Krieger gets double mention here-thanks for trimming the hedges and spreading the mulch!
REMINDER-we do have grill your own burgers and dogs available anytime-also weekly Friday night grill your own specials on the big grill!
