Notes From The Bridge...
WELCOME 2008 !
Due to Gary’s (our cook) recent illness and my time spent in the kitchen, these notes will be very brief!
On the back of this month’s newsletter and also here, you will find this year’s dues schedule. Golf memberships do have a discount if paid by Jan. 31. If you intend to use either the two or four payment plan, your first payment is also due by Jan. 31.
Our social committee is up and functioning. Look for a lot of fun stuff upcoming. Super bowling will happen again this year. Super Bowl Sunday is Feb. 3 and we’ll have our annual 9-pin bowling tourney at 1:00 p.m. followed by a party at the clubhouse. You can sign up for bowling as a single, couple, or a team. The cost is $10 per person. Please bring you favorite football snack for the clubhouse party. We will have hotdogs at the bowling alley.
Bear will run a poker tourney at the club Jan. 26. Check with him for details.
Special thanks this month to Dee Zillman and Joanne Hersh for decorating the clubhouse for Christmas. Thanks girls!

Happy Holidays!
AS 2007 WINDS DOWN, THE BOARD, STAFF, AND I WISH EVERYBODY A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON. AS YOU CAN TELL BY OUR CALENDAR, WE DO HAVE SEVERAL CHRISTMAS PARTIES BOOKED, SO PLEASE CHECK OUR SCHEDULE AND DO TRY AND LET US KNOW WHEN BRINGING GROUPS OF 6 OR MORE PEOPLE. THE BIGGER PARTIES ARE ON THE WEEKENDS WITH SEVERAL SMALLER ONES DURING THE WEEK. PLEASE CALL IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW IT MIGHT AFFECT YOUR DINNER PLANS!
THE KID’S CHRISTMAS PARTY WILL BE 12/9 AT 1 P.M. SOMMER AND THE SOCIAL COMMITTEE GIRLS WILL HAVE FUN AND GAMES FOR ALL THE CHILDREN, AND OF COURSE SANTA WILL MAKE AN APPEARANCE!
WE ARE GOING TO PARTY NEW YEAR’S EVE. CHERYL PAYNE HAS AGREED TO ENTERTAIN AGAIN THIS YEAR. WE’LL OPEN THE DOORS AT 5 P.M. CHERYL STARTS WHENEVER SHE WANTS! PROBABLY 8-830 P.M. PLEASE BRING A SNACK AND WE’LL GREET THE NEW YEAR TOGETHER. WE WILL BE CLOSED 12/25 AND 1/1.
WE ARE OFFERING A 10% DISCOUNT OFF OF OUR WALTON LOGO APPAREL DURING DECEMBER. WE DO HAVE LIMITED SIZES AND COLORS. NO SPECIAL ORDERS DURING THE SALE, BUT WE WILL RESTOCK NEXT SPRING. IF YOU SEE SOMETHING YOU LIKE, BUT NEED A DIFFERENT SIZE OR COLOR, LET ME KNOW AND WE’LL ORDER IT IN THE SPRING.
RECENTLY THE WALTON FAMILY LOST ANOTHER LONG TIME MEMBER AND FRIEND, BOB GLASS. BOB WOULD OFTEN JUMP ON A MOWER HERE JUST TO HELP OUT. HE WAS A HARD WORKING MAN ALL OF HIS LIFE. OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO HIS FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

November Board Meeting
Walton Club Board of Directors
Monday, November 12, 2007
The meeting was called to order by president Mark Swan at 5:50pm.
Members present were Dale Caylor, Terri Odell, Jeri Schultz, Steve Miller and Sommer Lyons. Also present was upcoming board member Linda Keeley.
The treasurer’s report was read and approved.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
Old Business
! Still no lease from the city.
! PA system will be looked at soon.
! The new dues schedule has been decided on and will be implemented for 2008.

! The handicap computer will not be used in the 2008 golf season.
! Front railing by the steps has been fixed.
New Business
! The minutes from the meetings will be added to the website every month.
! Will be looking into getting a new cash register for the main bar.
! Will look into getting new bar stools for the main bar.
! There are some leaks in the south cart shed that will be taken care of.
Managers Report
! There were two new memberships approved.
! There are several spots in the cart shed that are still not paid for.
! Kirk is looking into getting DirecTV.
! The kids Christmas Party will be on December 9th at 1:00pm.
! The staff will each be provided with 2 shirts.
! Discussed changing the dining room by the party bar.
Superintendents Report
! Roughs were mowed today.
! Water system is working decent but three greens were not working properly.
! Pump house has been re-plumbed and is working.
! The course restroom has been closed down for the season and the water fountain has been taken down.
! There was a soil test done on the tees and greens and the soil is good.
! The dead limbs will start to be removed from the trees tomorrow and several trees will be removed.
! Three trees will be moved in on Friday.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15pm.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 5:30pm.
